Loving Care for your Fur Babies

A uniquely high quality service of Overnight Dog Boarding in my home for small to medium dogs.
Perfect for anyone going on vacation or traveling for work, who prefers a home environment and a limited number of dogs, over a commercial kennel.

My top priority is to keep your Fur Babies happy, safe and healthy by providing an environment where they get lots of loving care!

Pet sitting visits for cats or dogs to homes surrounding my neighborhood are also offered. Click on Contact to inquire, or see my Services page for more details. I'm a small boutique business, so please call ahead if possible.

Why choose Dog Boarding or Daycare in my home over Pet Sitting in your home?

There are varying opinions on this subject and plenty who believe that a dog is stressed in a boarding or daycare situation. That is not the case here.  My primary goal is to keep your Fur Baby happy and healthy! I offer a peaceful environment in my home for small to medium dogs. Please call or email with questions about the size of your baby and any other details.

I limit the number of dogs I take so each gets plenty of love and care.  Please call in advance to reserve a spot for your fur baby!

Overnight Boarding in My Home:

Your baby must be neutered/spayed, healthy, clean, housebroken and non-aggressive with dogs and humans. All Fur Babies boarded here will receive the same love and care as they get at home. They are fed their normal diet, given daily walks, and medications if required, all per your instructions. They are never caged or crated unless of course they actually like to be crated at certain times such as at night. I’ll follow your instructions. Dogs like routine and calm, and I provide that environment. I encourage you to bring your babies bed, food, treats and whatever else makes them happy. Keep in mind that toys might be shared with others and could get destroyed.

Meet Gretchen!

I’ve always been an animal lover. I’ve fostered & rescued small dogs in the past, and have one small very sweet dachshund named Shadow. Before I had Shadow, I had a dachshund named Sophie, who at two years old was diagnosed with Acute Megaesophagus that required her to be fed and held up twice a day. I did this for 11 years. From age 10 until I was 26, I had a large gray tabby cat and his mama for 18 years. I know and understand how my clients feel when they say their pet is their child, because I feel the same way. Our babies need and deserve the best care we can give to them.

I consider it a privilege to care for your dog while you’re at work or on vacation. You can know your Fur Babies are happy, safe and their emotional needs are attended to while you’re away. My home is in King City near Bull Mountain. I have a one level home with fully fenced back yard. My home environment is calm, orderly and secure, including the back yard which is the perfect size for smaller dogs. Are you’re concerned that your smaller dog might not get enough love and attention or might be overwhelmed at a larger daycare or boarding facility where they have many other dogs? If your dog shy, older, has special needs or simply prefers a more quiet space, then my home may be just the answer for you!

You can tell that Gretchen is such an animal lover, and knowledgeable about them. Even the food and treats that they eat! She kept us updated while on our vacation with text messages along with photos and is a very caring, responsive and responsible pet sitter. She provided Winnie and Bella with care and attention, above and beyond what we expected. I would recommend her to anyone that has a pet sitting need. Gretchen is simply the best. I think she may even spoil our dogs more than we do!  They truly missed her when they came home!  If you're in need of pet-sitting, don't hesitate to contact her. You will be very glad you did.

Gretchen treats all dogs as if they were her own, with alot of love & care. The fact that she only will accept small dogs & limits the amount of dogs in a stay reassures us that our dog Molly is getting alot of attention and is safe. She also does meet & greets so that she knows the dogs will all get along. Her home & yard are clean & beautiful & the neighborhood is very dog walking friendly. Molly was sick & Gretchen took her to our vet, fed her food by hand & followed the vet's instructions. Molly always is so happy to go to Gretchen's home, unlike other boarding places. Molly loves Gretchen's dog Shadow, & they sleep together with Gretchen, just like at home. I think Molly doesn't want to come home at times because she is having so much fun. It's so nice she texts pictures & lets you know how your pup is doing. We are regular customers & give Gretchen's Furbabies 5 stars.

Gretchen Fur Babies is friendly and professional. Gretchen provided a meet and greet session in her home to make sure the pets were compatible. She was very flexible in scheduling around our vacation. And while we were away she sent text messages and cute photos telling us how Brodie was doing. She is genuinely interested in the welfare of your pet. We had peace of mind while we were away.
